Robert J. Taylor

Managing Attorney | rob@rjtaylorlaw.com

Before becoming an attorney, Rob served 20 years in the United States Coast Guard, building a career defined by discipline, leadership, and accountability. His service shaped the way he approaches problem-solving: carefully, strategically, and with a clear focus on results. That same mindset now guides his work as the founding attorney of the Law Office of Robert J. Taylor, PLLC.

After completing his Coast Guard career, Rob pursued a new path in the law, bringing with him decades of real-world experience in high-stakes decision-making. His legal background includes work in criminal prosecution, criminal defense, business law, and appellate practice, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how cases are built, challenged, and resolved. This broad experience allows him to anticipate issues before they arise and advocate effectively for his clients at every stage.

Rob understands that legal problems rarely exist in isolation. Whether you are facing criminal charges, navigating a business dispute, or planning for the future, the outcome can affect your freedom, finances, family, and peace of mind. He works closely with individuals, families, and businesses to provide clear advice, practical strategies, and straightforward communication, so clients always understand their options and next steps.

At the core of Rob’s practice are the values he carried throughout his Coast Guard service: integrity, precision, and an unwavering commitment to those he serves. He believes every client deserves to be heard, respected, and represented with diligence and care.

Based in Central Washington, the Law Office of Robert J. Taylor, PLLC proudly serves clients throughout the region. If you are looking for an attorney who brings experience, discipline, and steady leadership to your legal matter, Rob is ready to help you move forward with confidence.

  • Rob earned his J.D. summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was a member of the National Tax Moot Court Team and inducted into both the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society and the Heuisler Honor Society.

While in law school, Rob served in the Community Development Clinic, where he drafted contracts for nonprofit organizations and prepared proposed legislation on behalf of a 501(c)(3) non-profit—experience that strengthened his commitment to service and sharpened his practical legal skills.

After graduating, Rob clerked for the Appellate Court of Maryland (formerly the Court of Special Appeals), where he gained firsthand insight into the appellate process and judicial reasoning. Rob also practiced briefly at a large law firm, focusing on maritime law and insurance defense, where he advised corporate clients and navigated complex litigation in high-stakes environments.

Before founding his firm, Rob served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Kittitas County, where he prosecuted a broad range of criminal matters. That experience provided meaningful trial experience, sharpened his motions practice, and deepened his understanding of criminal appeals. This background shaped Rob’s approach to advocacy—both inside and outside the courtroom.

Today, Rob represents businesses, families, and individuals across Benton, Chelan, Grant, Kittitas, and Yakima counties, providing clear, results-driven legal support backed by integrity, precision, and a love for the law.
